Unfortunately, sometimes those harmless-looking, perfectly-named domains may have a checkered past. Before picking up a domain name that may be banned or blocked due to previously delivering malware, trojans, or porn, you need to do a background check.

We've set up a free Domain Background Check cheat sheet at http://siteriver.com/domaintest.php - just enter the domain name you are researching and we generate 14 links to domain check, anti-malware, and other tools to quickly check if your domain name is ready for business or is still on parole.

Richard,

Thanks for the great SEO article. @localshoppers is right on the money mentioning that, "SEO is one of the most important tasks for a business with web sites." I can not agree with that more.
@stevepat, if you have time, please check out An Introduction to SEO, an article I recently posting on my site that can be accessed here:
Great tips!

There are more things that webmaster should pay attention to when optimize their web site for search engines. A quality backlinks is also very important, but it's not the highest priority.

Long tail search keywords for you site is a MUST!

There are trillion web pages out there indexed by search engines. How do you compete with other sites with just few words? People are tired of finding non-sense web sites, which have done a better SEO to get higher ranking. As a webmaster, how do you compete with those site?

More and more people are search at least three words. You need to research on what long tail keywords is best for you. 2 words are too short. 3 words are perfect, 4 words are too long.

Once you did your SEO, always check and search your own site and monitor the progress.

One last things to pay really serious attention is the home page's TITLE.

Make sure your main keywords is listed in the Title in the right order. Once you set it, don't change it for at least few months. Changing the order of keywords in your title tag may hurt your site the big time.

I have an emergency situation where i need to get $1000 fast for my car to
be repaired. I need the money fast but I still want to not get screwed over.
My friend suggested an online site that he used before called
www.instantbailout.com I looked it over and it looks ok, but I am not sure
what is a reasonable rate for a payday loan. Is there a standard for this
type of loan? Also does a payday loan effect your credit?

Well said. I learned something today. SEO seems like the forest Dorothy and her friend Toto walked through to get to the emerald city. You've made SEO clearer to me, so I'm grateful. I still have a long way to go to understand how the linkages interact with each other, so I'll keep an eye out for you in case you write a follow-up article.

Thanks Richard. I am a low tech person living in a high tech region of the world. I find the internet facisnating, useful and cumbersome at times. I am in the very beginning stage of using this type of marketing which seems confusing and very time consuming with linking everything together. I know it is necessary in today's online social environment. How can I read about the first two ingredients for longterm SEO visibility?
