Health insurance is a critical issue in the United States now. Perhaps the biggest point that this article did not mention is the difference between cancelable and non-cancelable insurance plans. The biggest advantage over getting healthcare with a business over individual plans is that laws prevent insurance companies from canceling a person's policy when they are with a business as opposed to having an individual plan. The movie sicko is all about cancelable plans and that's frightening.

I think it is helpful to talk with a lot of people about health insurance, plans, options, changes, etc. The state of healthcare in America is quite frankly a poor reflection of what this country can do for its citizens. As a result, company plans help fill the gap but there are lot of details.

Great article, but one option you left out is using a PEO, professional employer organization. We provide big-company benefits for small to medium sized companies at a much lower rate than our clients could get on their own.

Good article. If people are looking to find small business coverage for their employees, I recommend starting with a service like http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/. It simplifies the process of seeing who is in your area and pricing.

A good starter article lays out the basics quite nicely. But if anyone is shopping for small business/independent health insurance coverage God Bless you, it really is quite a chore.

Good article although if anyone has information on low cost independent health care plans, I'd love to know about those.
